Businesses often view their accountants as a resource only for tax or bookkeeping issues. Dave Gilmer knows that the CPAs and advisors of JCCS offer clients much more than that. Both personal and business clients can often benefit from expanding their CPA’s role to, for example, retirement planning, investment planning, creating and implementing employee benefit plans, budgeting and ensuring for successful transitions down the road.

In addition, as the Affordable Care Act requires many businesses to offer and report on employee health insurance plans, Dave and the JCCS team often help clients analyze their requirements and weigh the financial and personnel impacts involved in their various options. With that support, these businesses then are able to positively adjust the direction of their operations.

For Dave, it’s clear that local businesses drive the success of our economy and that too often businesses struggle to stay afloat, or to improve their margins, simply because they don’t have the experience or training in accounting or business management. The constant and significant changes made by Congress and the courts make having employees and investing in growth difficult at best. As advisors, Dave and his team work daily to answer those challenges – to the benefit of their clients and their communities.

A native of Colorado, Dave moved to Western Montana in 1998 where he continues to fuel his interests in camping, fishing and hunting. He also spends as many hours as possible running mountain trails in preparation for races.
